FibreOptic Light and Design have developed an innovative bulwark lighting system with a variable directional light head insert. This allows the direction of the light beam and its focal characteristics to be tailored to the lighting requirements of different areas along the bulwark.

The benefits of fibre optic bulwark lighting are increasing recognised by designers and owners. Our light heads are constructed entirely from high density PEP with an isolated stainless retaining ring. This overcomes the corrosion that plagues electrical bulwark lights. The savings from just one bulwark refurbishment more than doubly repays the investment in our fibre optic system. 

Maintenance is also made far easier because bulwark lights no longer require individual lights to be replaced or disassembled when bulbs fail. A single light driver powers many lights and offers an easy access location for bulb changes. 

The variable directional light head insert allows different focal outputs and beam directions so lighting and safety is improved along the bulwark.  The lights opposite cabins and pilot areas illuminate a wider area through reflections from the opposite walls, while forward and aft open areas require a beam to be focussed down onto the deck. The directional light head insert also allow bulwark lighting to be used to illuminate name plates or special features as required.

Fibre optic bulwark lighting enables dramatic visual effects, adding to the ambiance and glamour of luxury vessels. Synchronized color changing can be added to bulwark lighting systems, providing striking feature lighting during special occasions.
